The fine print, in plain language

Terms of service

These terms cover how our quotes and work operate. The short version: a quote is an estimate until we confirm it after a site visit, we stand behind our workmanship, and the manufacturer warranty covers the unit itself. Here is the detail.

Last updated: June 2026.

These terms apply to the information on this website and to quotes and work provided by Heat Pumps Queenstown. By asking us for a quote or engaging us to do work, you agree to them.

Quotes and pricing

Any price you see on this website, including in the cost guide and the sizing calculator, is an indicative range to help you plan, not a fixed quote. Prices can change with the unit you choose, your home and how involved the install is.

A figure we give you over the phone or by email is an estimate. We confirm a firm, fixed price in writing after a free site visit, once we have seen the rooms, the access and where the units will go. That written quote is the price that applies, and it is valid for the period stated on it.

Our work

We carry out installation and servicing work with reasonable care and skill, and the electrical work is done and certified by a registered electrician. We aim to complete work in the timeframe we give you, though weather, access and supply of units can affect timing, and we will keep you informed if anything changes.

Warranties

  • The unit: your heat pump is covered by the manufacturer's warranty for that brand and model. We register the warranty as part of the install, and any claim on the unit is handled under the manufacturer's terms.
  • Our workmanship: we stand behind the quality of our installation work. If something is not right because of how we fitted it, talk to us and we will put it right.
  • Servicing and repairs: we service and repair the systems we install. Keeping up the recommended servicing also helps keep your manufacturer warranty valid.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.

Your responsibilities

So we can do the job well, we ask that you give us accurate information about your home, safe access on the day, and let us know of anything that might affect the work, such as wiring, asbestos or structural issues you are aware of.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to our work is limited to putting right the work in question or refunding what you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. This does not exclude any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
